Alderwood State Wayside

Willanette National Forest
Breathe in some of Eugene's fresh clean air as you enjoy a visit to Willamette National Forest. This park is accessed from Highway 58 east of Eugene, and when you approach the area you will drive along the scenic, narrow reservoir that leads to the larger Dexter and Lookout Point Reservoirs. In the warmer months of the year, enjoy swimming and fishing or just wade in the edge of the water. Plan an outdoor picnic, a family outing or fishing trip in this truly memorable and picturesque part of the area.

Candlelight Park Off-Leash Dog Park
Your need for good exercise is important, but then again, it is equally vital for your pet. Head to the Candlelight Park Off-Leash where you both can get in some enjoyable outdoor exercise. This park is specifically designated as an off-leash area, so your dog can enjoy the freedom and fun of running free without leaving the view of your watchful eye. The park is conveniently located off of Royal Avenue at Candlelight.

Amazon Trail
A brisk walk is one of the best forms of exercise, and for outdoor lovers, taking that gingerly stroll down the Amazon Trail in Eugene is a great way to spend some quality time enjoying the area's natural beauty. The trail is located next to Roosevelt Middle School and offers a 600-meter, 1,000-meter and 1-mile loop. Whatever length of the trail you choose to tackle, they are all in the convenient figure-eight shape which proves to be a moderate challenge and keeps the pace for your walk interesting, too.

Skinner Butte Trail

This trail offers a moderate level of difficulty while providing a breathtaking view of the Willamette River and the downtown area of Eugene. Silver Creek Landing
Getting a glimpse of nature doesn't have to be just plants and trees. See it come to life when you visit the Silver Creek Landing. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and watch the wildlife that's located at the Silver Creek public boat ramp. A viewing platform is just a short walk away, and you'll be able to overlook the McKenzie River where you'll catch sight of osprey, waterfowl, beaver and deer, among other interesting species.
